Sharyland High School student Arianna Gomez will be signing a National "Letter of Intent" to participate at the collegiate level.
Arianna has been accepted into the United States Naval Preparatory Academy a Division I university located in Newport, Rhode Island. She will be on scholarship to compete in Women’s Track and Field. The Lady Midshipmen compete in the Patriot League Conference.
Arianna is a 4-year letter winner in Cross Country. She is a 4-time Regional qualifier in cross country and a 2-time State qualifier in cross country as well. In 2016 she was honored at SHS with the Girls Newcomer of the Year award in Cross Country. In 2017 she was honored with the SHS Girls Cross Country Most Improved award. In 2018 Arianna was the recipient of the Girls Cross Country co-MVP award and in 2019 she was awarded with the Most Spirit award for our Girls Cross Country program.
In Track and Field, Arianna is a 3-time letter winner and qualified to the Area meet on one occasion. Academically, Arianna is a member of the National Honor Society. She will be graduating with a GPA of 3.89 and is ranked 38th out of 341 students. She certainly is a great example of what a student athlete is. We looked forward to hearing about Arianna’s growth as an athlete, but more importantly as a person
