Sharyland High School athlete Sebastian Sanchez will be signing a National "Letter of Intent" to participate at the collegiate level.

Sebastian will be signing to participate in Powerlifting at Midland University, an NAIA university in Fremont, Nebraska. The Warriors compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Midland University won both the men's and women's raw titles at the 2019 USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals. This makes back-to-back national championships for the men’s team.
Sebastian is a 1-year letter winner in Powerlifting. His senior year he qualified to the 5A Regional Meet where he finished in 9th place with a total of 1,350 pounds. He also qualified to the 5A State Meet where he finished in 14th place with a total of 1,325 pounds. Sebastian has been a major contributor to the success that the Sharyland High School Powerlifting Team has had the last two seasons. He is a great example of what a student athlete is.
